Installation Guide to install ArcGIS
1. - FIRST OF COURSE, INSTALL ARCGIS DESKTOP.EXE

2. - Install the License Manager 10.5 (ArcGIS_Desktop_105_154030_DownLoadLy.iR.exe)
      When it finishes the license manager windows popup, DONT close the window go to                   (start/stop/reread option) press the STOP button

3. - Run as administrator the first patch (1_License_Manager105_Patch_DownLoadLy.iR.exe) click   next, next till it finishes

4. - Run as administrator the "2_Arc105_keymaker_DownLoadLy.iR.exe"and press Generate Key     then press Save to browse to
   C: Program Files (x86)ArcGISLicense10.5bin then save

5. - Run as administrator the first patch (1_License_Manager105_Patch_DownLoadLy.iR.exe) click   next, next till it finishes

6. - Run as administrator the "2_Arc105_keymaker_DownLoadLy.iR.exe"and press Generate Key   then press Save to browse to
   C: Program Files (x86)ArcGISLicense10.5bin then save

7. - ReRun License Server Administrator then press START

8. - Install the Arcgis Desktop 10.5 till it finishes a window will popup a window ArcGIS   Administrator Wizard,
   Choose Advanced then on the License manager below type localhost the press OK

9. - Run as administrator the third and last patch (3_Arcgis_Desktop_105_patch_DownLoadLy.iR.exe) click next, next till it finishes.

The Vance Model of Transport Development

Based on his work on the eastern seaboard of America, Vance (1970) developed a five-stage ‘mercantile’ model to illustrate the development of transport links and the growth of the urban hierarchy in North America (Figure 3.6). Although primarily concerned with trade, his model is important in that it stresses the impact of exogenous forces on the evolution of transport networks and their associated spatial patterns. The Vance Model of Transport Development In the initial stage, an accumulating of wealth in Europe prompted overseas expansion of an exploratory nature. Stage 2 sees the beginnings of the transatlantic trade routes based on the one-way trade in staple products such a fish, furs and timber. From 1620, permanent settlement occurs in North America; this results in Atlantic trade in both directions as settlers begin to produce commodities for export and consume manufactured products from a rapidly industrialising Europe (stage 3).
